Fimit, Fondi Immobiliari Italiani - SGR, is today one of the leading Asset Management Companies in the real estate sector operating in our country. It is not controlled by any banking group, and is a real and proper independent platform, whose shareholders are mainly Institutional Investors.
Fimit is specialized in the provision of collective asset management services through the establishment, promotion and management of real estate funds for institutional investors and retail savers.
The Chairperson of Fimit is Mr Paolo Crescimbeni, a lawyer and Special Commissioner of the INPDAP, and the Chief Executive Officer is Mr. Massimo Caputi.
The shareholders of the company are Investors with a long-term perspective, none of which with a controlling stake. Besides its shareholders its customers include the most important financial institutions in the country.
Today Fimit manages 11 real estate funds with more than € 4 billion of assets and it has recently imposed itself on the market with two significant operations: the acquisition by Banca Intesa Sanpaolo of the assets of IMMIT and at the end of December the acquisition of part of the real estate assets of Unicredit.
The Reserved Real Estate Funds Fondo Omega and Fondo Omicron Plus were the result of these two operations.
Brief history
- 2002 Fimit places Fondo Alpha Immobiliare and lists it on the Italian stock market: in Italy Alpha is the first contribution real estate fund but it is also and above all the first real estate fund to be listed.
- 2005 Creation of the first contribution funds reserved for qualified investors, Fondo Sigma and Fondo Gamma Immobiliare.
- 2005 In October Fondo Beta Immobiliare is also placed and listed on the market: against a total offer of 161,085 units, applications are received for 203,900 units.
- 2006 Creation of Fondo Theta Immobiliare, a fund reserved for institutional investors.
- 2006 In little more than 20 days Fimit places on the market Fondo Delta Immobiliare, the first fund in Italy destined for retail investors which invests in tourist properties, bringing in more than 210 million euro.
- 2007 On behalf of its Delta, Beta and Gamma funds Fimit acquires Forte Village in Sardinia in an economic operation which is the most significant in the year for the sector.
- 2008 Start of operations of Fondo Eta and Fondo Tau Immobiliare, both destined for qualified investors.
- 2008 Conclusion of operations for the launch of the business of Fondo Omega and Fondo Omicron Plus Immobiliare, both reserved for institutional investors. 284 properties of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group are contributed to Fondo Omega for a total value of more than 1 billion, 100 million euro; 72 properties of the UniCredit Group are transferred to Fondo Omicron Plus for a market value of approximately 930 million euro.
- 2009 Fondo Delta is listed on the MTF segment of the Italian stock exchange. Launch of Fondo Senior, destined for Institutional Investors and aimed at the over 65s.
