The Italian real estate market has been deeply transformed over the last 20 years.

In this period it has undergone a structural change, with an expansion in the number of players and their typology, legislative and town planning instruments, operating methods, financial techniques, etc..

This is a change which, for its depth and speed, is unprecedented in the recent past of this industry.

Among causes and effects of the transformation of the Italian real estate it is certainly possible to number the interest and arrival of international investors, which increasingly significant in our country: from investment funds to pension funds, from property companies, to international banks specialized in real estate.

Over the recent past, the national and international real estate market has been through a moment of crisis, so deep, especially over the last year, that it may foreshadow a new chapter in ways of doing business in real estate in the future. In this stage of transition, adjustment and restructuring of the most consolidated mechanisms on which the investment markets are based, the Meeting represents a great opportunity for real estate players and institutional international investors (already present and/or which are looking with interest at the Italian real estate market).

Starting from a wider analysis of the “Italian System”, they will be able to take a bearing on the factors that have contributed to the development of the real estate industry among foreign institutional investors. They will able also to understand how Italy is seen abroad, to analyze the special features of the market and to identify the strong points, the appealing reasons, the negative elements and the main lacks to play on, with a perspective of a recovery in the short term.
